The core tasks of the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics (IMBI) are methodological and applied biomedical research, from artificial intelligence to health services research, as well as teaching and statistical consulting. The institute comprises the following groups:
- study support and consulting
- knowledge discovery and synthesis
- medical data science
- methods in clinical epidemiology
- health services research
- administration & IT
Close collaboration exists with the Freiburg Centre for Data Analysis and Modelling, the local Clinical Trials Centre, with Cochrane Germany, and the German Registry for Clinical Trials.
