The Leibniz Institut for Resilience Research (LIR) is an interdisciplinary and translational research institute that assembles basic neuroscientists, clinical neuroscientists, psychologists, and social scientists, in order to address one of the most important public health challenges of modern, knowledge-based societies: prevention of stress-related mental disorders. The LIR is the first dedicated research institution in Europe that aims to tackle these challenges and to fill an important gap in our knowledge and understanding of stress resilience.
